A few more Sam Simmons "Buzz Bomb" pics.
Sam Sam Simons writes in with a few more of his "Buzz Bomb" pics
I love this bike..
Hello Steve, Here's an old project for a friend wanting an 1/8 mile old school dragbike based on something 'unusual' (non RDe350/400,in other words). It's a combination of CB160 chassis,Kawa A7 350 mill,T200 front end,Yam DT rear,T125 tank, etc.,a real parts bin concoction . New internal parts were a real challenge, with zero performance pieces available (now or back then). All in all,a fun bike to build.... Best regards,
I love this bike..

Wicked little RD 350 drag Racer.
Robert Ritchey sent in the gorgeous RD drag bike and promised me some build pics soon. I can't imagine how much fun this would be to take down the strip. Nice build there Robert.

Got a picture from the Legend Himself. Tony Nicosea.
Tony 's Nicosia's Kaw. H-1,Tony Set the AHRA World Record at Loins Drag Strip 1969 111.38 MPH / 12.61 ET it was the fastest St. M/C !
For those of you who don't know much about Tony he is the man who put the wow in Kawasaki. He is a living legend in the Kawasaki Triples community. Back when these were new bikes and Kawasaki was looking to make a splash he was the rider they turned to at the dragstrip. Here's another page I have on him with some more great shots!
From the Wikepedia page:
It was the quickest production motorcycle at the time. When motorcycle journalists expressed some disbelief, Kawasaki suggested they take a new H-1 to the drag strip. Using a regular production model with only 7 miles on it, Tony Nicosia ran the quarter mile in 12.96 seconds at 100.7 mph for the press to witness (the official figure was 12.4 secs by Mike Wenzel - quite believable on a well run in machine). Tony Nicosia set many world records with Kawasaki triples over the following years, including some land speed records at Bonneville Salt Flats
Here he is in all his glory. Thanks Tony!

The Sam Simmons built Kaweasaki A& "Buzz bomb"! with build pics.
Here's the story from Sam:
Hello Steve,
I'm sending pictures of a past project that I shared with a friend, who wanted something different for vintage 1/8 mi. drag racing. He selected the Kawa A7 350 mill, and
we combined a T500 swingarm,CB-160 chassis and T200 front end .The intent was to create a simple, minimalist, fun machine that would be entertaining to ride
and powered by an engine other than the venerable RD350/400. As you know, the A7 mill is a very good performer, compromised ,unfortunately by the lack of
replacement internals and after market performance parts that the RD boys enjoy......Fortunately,the owner has sourced spare NOS internals to keep this bike running
for quite a while......
That is too cool Sam! As always, Keep em coming and Thanks Again!

Someone suggested that I don't post enough Suzuki's on here and they're right. So! Let's start with a wicked GT750 Dragracer.
Nothing at all against the brand it's just that I spend so much time in the Yamaha and Kawasaki camps. Shame on me really. They are a very deserving of a podium in the 2 stroke wars. Which position is up to you LOL...
