The Barton750 "Silver Dream Racer"
Chris Alty sent in these pics of a bike and brand that I'm a little ashamed to say I know very little about. Especially considering my love of two strokes and old movies. He's also getting a restoration business off the ground and included some nice links to more information. Check it out.
Here's a nice clip from Silver Dream Racer to see the bike in action. Nice stuff actually. Especially for the times!
Hi I have just had a look at you site and thought i would send you some pics of my Barton 750 projects, i hope to have one out in August and my site is www.bartonphoenix.moonfruit.com Regards Chris Alty (and in a later e-mail) Eric Buell bought the rights etc when Barton closed its doors, check out the film Silver Dream Racer as Barton Made the bike in the film, i hope to have one of mine on the track later this year. Regards Chris

Reader ride! 1997 Aprilia RS250!
I've actually seen a few of these stateside that were street legal. I don't often get envious but this might get me there. Congratulations on finally landing you dream ride. What a great bike!
Dear Badass 2 stroke motorcycles,
Wow just run through your blog, I consider myself a 2stroke lover. I always believe 2stroke is the most ideal engine for a sportbike. I think MotoGP made a big mistake by banning the 2stroke to compete. They should have let the 2stroke to compete with what ever type off engine. Anyway I just recently owned an Aprilia RS250 1997 model. This has been my dream bike back then and now I own 1. Riding it takes some time to get use to as this thing has freakish power delivery at ultrahigh RPM.....but ones you get use to the power delivery you would enjoy the superlatively devastatingly fast riding you could ever have imagine. you can even take a very steep angle short corner without any brakes being applied from a very high speed. Of course your feet will be very-very busy changing the gears but it still fun doing it. Anyway this is my picture with I consider my 2nd wife.......she is 1 of my big extended family. Thank you. Reader ride. An unusual kovrovetc-minsk framed 175cc.
Valentin Voynov sends in this cool custom build. I confess that I don't know much about the ofiginal bike but I like hat he did with this. More proof that you don't need a deep pockets to build a cool bike.

Special request for Information on this Seeley Suzuki TR500
Rob Payne writes in with a special request for info on what I think may be an ultra rare Seeley framed Suzuki. Can anyone help shed some light on this interesting ride?
He Writes in:
I have recently aquired a factory Seeley framed TR500 I friend has owned for 15 years. I have attached a photo of the bike just to show you.... I am basically in the process of restoring and also sourcing info on how many are left, how many were made, etc etc. I am told a factory cs seeley with original motor (TR 500 - 10077) frame cs 262S MK 3CS107N are very rare. Thanks,
Rob
And in a second message:
I have a bunch of other photos and historical info on the bike. I am trying to contact Colin Seeley and give him the numbers, but cannot find an email for him. I honestly believe, from what I am told and read online, that there are only maybe 3-6 left, if that. Please let me know if you can find any further info or get any feedback.

Yamaha BW 80's. A pair of Sam Simmons Specials.
Sam Simmons sends in this pair of beauties.
He Writes:
Hi Steve,
Hope you're doing well. Excellent ( new) site (as usual!!). I recently
redid a couple of Yamaha BW-80's,so here are a few pictures for you...
Surprisingly, both BW's were still in the hands of their original
owners, one in MO,the other in IL.
Both were in good overall condition, but pretty tired in the 'Engine Dept'
. I 'stretched' the suspension on mine, while my wife's is stock. Once the
exhaust and intake systems are de-restricted,carb's rejetted, these
little shits fly...almost 50 mph.
They're great little bikes for swap meet transportation, and perfect for
inexperienced trail riders.
Best Regards,
Sam Simons
Holy Smokes! 50mph on these must be a hoot!
I like the Kenny Roberts colors!
Sitting Pretty! Some nice clearance there!
How to raise em up!
Very Nice work!
The before pic!

I'm Jealous... "Barn Find" Reader ride RD400 Daytona from Seattle.
From Chris Sharon:
Steve,
Here are a couple pictures of the RD400 I just picked up. It has been sitting since 1992 and is in pretty decent shape. There is some chrome pitting and a bit of rust here and there but over all it’s a diamond in the rough. It only has 4880 original miles on it. It still has the stock tires. Wow.
I plan on cleaning it up but keeping it stock. I’ll send more pictures as I tear into it.
Chris in Seattle
That's one heck of a find! Congrats!

Alex Neun sends in his S2 Daily Rider!
Well the seat is torn but its my transportation on a dry day! best sounding bike in town.

Long live kawi triples!
Nice rider Alex. Doesn't need much at all and seat covers are available! Take care of those pipes. They're not exactly common!
