Wow.... just plain freaking WOW!  I've never even heard of this bike.  what an amazing little machine!

From Hagen Schroot:
Hello, here are some pictures and videos from an Simson S51 V2 with 50HP. The Simson S51 is 50ccm motocycle with 3,6 HP stock bulid in East Germany in 1980`s. This Simson is the personal ride from an famous exhaust manufacturer for the Simson scene. At the moment is only 120km/h fast, because of the brakes , but lift up the front in 5tgh gear!

Reader ride! 1997 Aprilia RS250!

I've actually seen a few of these stateside that were street legal. I don't often get envious but this might get me there. Congratulations on finally landing you dream ride. What a great bike!

Dear Badass 2 stroke motorcycles,
Wow just run through your blog, I consider myself a 2stroke lover. I always believe 2stroke is the most ideal engine for a sportbike. I think MotoGP made a big mistake by banning the 2stroke to compete. They should have let the 2stroke to compete with what ever type off engine. Anyway I just recently owned an Aprilia RS250 1997 model. This has been my dream bike back then and now I own 1. Riding it takes some time to get use to as this thing has freakish power delivery at ultrahigh RPM.....but ones you get use to the power delivery you would enjoy the superlatively devastatingly fast riding you could ever have imagine. you can even take a very steep angle short corner without any brakes being applied from a very high speed. Of course your feet will be very-very busy changing the gears but it still fun doing it. Anyway this is my picture with I consider my 2nd wife.......she is 1 of my big extended family. Thank you. Another GPL Racing special.

OK the picture clears up a bit! I copied this straight from the ADV rider post.  I didn't realize that it was a GPL Racing bike who in the 2 stroke world needs little introduction.

I built it just before moving to Canada, it was just a track bike for me but could have been raced. My racing days so the wife thinks are over lol, but would like to get back into a classic class at some point.

The running gear was swapped over from a 3xv conversion I did some years ago, I never got that bike to stop quick enough because the weight of the engine was to far forward. But the engine could be mounted some 6" further back in the 4DL chassis. The other reason was to fit the new +4mm stroke engine I was building at the time. There had always been over the years a load of BS on the tinternet when building a +4mm stroke YPVS.

So I did a build on line with all the port specs and how to to get a reliable set up which gives not to bad power. The goal was to build it as easy as possible and keep peak power below 10k. This is a package I offer and is doing very well in some of the Canadian race series. I designed two pipes for this set up, one is a race pipe which peaks at 10500 and with a proper retarding ignition can rev to 11k, peak power was 73WRhp before ignition changes but then went on to around 77WRhp, the other pipe is a road pipe and peaks @ 9750 with just over 40ft.

I build a lot of road/race bikes, which in truth many people can do. But the advantage I have is I design and build pipes, so can build a set of pipes to fit any bike. I'll stick a pic of the 3xv up

Maybe the nicest custom RZ hybrid I've ever seen!

Glyn posted this over on ADV rider which now has a 2 stroke only section... by the way! "It started out as a TZR 125 4DL chassis with was modified to except a 400cc YPVS engine. The fairing is TZ 2006"

A sweet set of Suzukis!

From Sue Rumburg "Shots of my 1966 X6 and 1964 T10. CREATE YOUR OWN CARBON FOORPRINT."

A very cool Honda Mt250... bobber!

I love the way he incorporated the expansion chamber instead of putting on a straight pipe. Well done.
