Tularis Video! Maybe the coolest 2 stroke ever built.

I've personally seen this bike run at Daytona when it was just completed. It was entered to do some "Parade laps" in what was supposed to be a mellow few laps by "Past Champions". Well he whacked that bike wide open around the high banks and was just whailing it. The sound was unbelievable but sadly it had to be cut short as the carbon fiber fuel tank had developed a small crack and was leaking fuel so unfortunately he had to cut it short. This was around 2000 or 2001 and the bikes performance and potential was nothing short of jaw dropping.

Cabits over on the 2stroke world board has posted the lates pics of his fantastic custom RD400.

This is taken from his post on the build

front end was taken from a 99 FZR600, rear suspension from same bike. Front was modified and 1 disc and caliper removed due to WAY too much braking for this bike. Swingarm had to be modified, frame modified and cut. Points gone and CDI in. Stage II porting and intakes ported for Banshee cages with 30mm Mikunis with crossover, Spec II F1 chromed chambers with chromed silencers. Headlight replaced with larger 7" H2 bulb setup, entire wiring harness was custom made, digital one piece instrument cluster, just too many custom parts to list. My intentions were to keep the old style look but update it. Hoping to chrome the wheels and get it painted Ferrari Red with Yamaha logo and pinstripes all the to the back of the seat over the winter if there is cash available. Its been almost three years so far so whats another three to finish it! Weighs in at just over 300 lbs wet with 110/70-17 front and 150/60-18 rear Bridgestone Battlax tires.

Outstanding job. I admit to being a bit envious!
