That's a ballsy build. First non drag racer I've seen stretched out that far. Looks great though! Thanks For the pics!

My name is Richard Weslow and here is some pictures of my bike. It started out as one big mess in my basement but with the help of some good friends Kurk Schwengel and Mark Snyder we put together one exciting ride.We moved the pivot back 6 1/2 inches fabricated mounts for a lower link and used a after market Fox mono shock for the rear. Vintage Ducati seat ,hand foraged rear sets, Avon Lynex fairing hand built space framing. And for the motor we did the Harry Barlow race porting with 32mm carbs and moto carrera pipes plus a few other tricky things. This bike just full on flys Hope you like the pictures

Finally! Getting the S2 on the bench and back together!
Well it took longer than I thought But I'mfinally getting her back together. So far so good. the transmission seems to be behaving and no surprises have popped up. I'm sure I'll have some tuning to deal with especially with those chambers an I think my ignition is acting up a bit. We'll see soon enough. Got a brand new battery in there so I may get her started tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

OK. Life is getting back on track! I'll be attacking that pain in the ass S2 that has been giving me so much misery. I will finish this bike or destroy it in my efforts!!
Here's the little bitch before I started.

Well here we GO!!! Firs off I'm doing a complete Re- rebuild of My buddy dougs bike see previous condition of the bike in this http://2strokebiker.blogspot.com/2007/01/well-its-official-hour-into-this-and-im.html . It was in pretty decent "daily rider" condition. All the mechanicals are done but the cosmetics were still lacking. Mu budget was tight but my tme was free so off we go. I actually like building bikes with other peoples money... shrug..

After a complete teardown, Powdercoat, and some painting reassembly begins.. so far so good!

The boxes aren't exactly "correct" but I like how they came out.

And here she is back on her feet with a kot of work still to go. He's got a set of Jemco pipes on the way and he's determined to get some flatslide Mikunis working on there.
Stay tuned. Much more will be getting posted again now that I've got a break in the action at my job and Deals Gap is on its Way

S2 Engine Teardown Pics!
So far so good. Tore down the engine last night (See Part 1 here). Before I started I did a leakdown test on the crankshaft seals and it was possibly the worst leaking crank I've seen yet. It went to 7 psi and held for about 10 seconds. Just awful. Should have held 6 PSI for 6 minutes. When I tried pulling the crank out of the block the rubber seals held on a little bit from suction and the crank moved inside them about 1/4 inch. Yikes! No wonder I could never get her to run worth a flip. The topend is essentially brand new. It's wierd working with such tiny parts after building 750's and 500's. This stuff is like jewelry compared to the bigger bikes. Hard to believe that 60+ Hp is fairly easily attainable.

Got an email request for more info on the H1. Figured I'd just post a few of the restoration pictures from along the way... It's basically a total spare parts rebuild. Engine was totally rebuilt for a project that will remain unmentioned at this time (out of embarrassment mostly). This was a decent frame I scored so I built it up with parts I had around (mostly) and stuff I had to acquire..
Freshly powder coated frame...

Up on her feet....

More bits-n-pieces...

Almost there...

Rolling...!

Another Possible Project for sometime in the next year or so...

My first street legal 2 stroke. A 1972 Kawasaki S2 350. I rode the stink out of this bike for a few months till the crank seals went out. I didn't know much about them at the time so I had the top end rebuilt with NOS kawasaki pistons Igot offf E-bay for a LOT of $$. So It already has a fresh top end and some brand new Pro-Flo expansion Chambers (on the shelf) and some S3 carbs (a little larger but bolt-on). Need to get her apart and get the crankshaft off to Damon Kirkland (The Kawi Triple Crank GOD) for a rebuild. After that its lots of love and cosmetics really is all she'll need. Soon......
I did a lot of things wrong early on with this bike. I owe it to her to at least get her back on the road again. Even got me to Daytona once back in 99 or 2000 or... about 25 pounds ago :)
While we wait on the powdercoating and wheeles for Dougs H2...

Here's a quick shot of my H1 project in an earlier stage. It's pretty much wrapped up now but I need to take some fresher pics of it.

GONE! The wheeles are at a local dshop being respoked and cleaned up and the frame will be off to the powdercoater in a day or so.
Well phase 2. Here we go!
Going! You get a sense of some of the crud underneath that beautiful bodywork.

Going.. Boy does that frame NEED some love!

Well It's official! An hour into this and I'm hooked! I can see why gazillions of folks are into this. For my first project thread I'm going to try and document the rebuild of my buddies bike. We'll call him Doug since that's actually his name. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding his bike (sort of) for second time. When he brought it home the first time it looked like this...

After a general cleanup and a total engine rebuild....
It came out about like this...
Not Bad really but it still had a ways to go. Fantastic runner now but the frame and cosmetics still needed a ton of work...
stay tuned... more to follow
